Spelling Promises To Keep Tori Relationship Private
CANDY SPELLING has vowed to keep the details of her rocky relationship with daughter TORI private in future - admitting things "got out of hand" when they put their feud in the public domain.
The pair endured a three-year estrangement following a fall out after the death of TV mogul Aaron Spelling - the family patriarch - in 2006.
They refused to speak in that time, only throwing barbs at one another through the press - with Candy Spelling writing a cutting letter to her actress daughter and posting it on celebrity website TMZ.com earlier this year (09).
But after finding themselves in hospital at the same time, mother and daughter started to mend their relationship, with Candy finally meeting her 18-month old granddaughter Stella for the first time.
And the socialite insists she will no longer make her grudges public property - opting to fix her bond with Tori behind closed doors.
She tells UsWeekly.com, "We both decided to (communicate) privately, so I know that everyone will respect that because it kind of got out of hand when it wasn't the other way."
And Spelling can't wait to spend the Christmas holidays with her grandchildren, adding, "Oh my God, she is adorable! She is bright. Well, they both are bright - what can I say? You know what, they are the most beautiful children, but I am not a prejudiced grandmother!
"Of course, I have to have things for them to unwrap, so they know coming to grandma's is a fun place where I have their toys and they get new toys. But I don’t let them taken them home. They have to play with them at my house."
