Tori Spelling - Spelling Dismisses 90210 Salary Dispute

TORI SPELLING has hit back at reports a salary dispute delayed her role in TV drama 90210, branding the rumours "hearsay".

The actress, whose TV mogul father Aaron Spelling produced the original show, was billed to join former Beverly Hills, 90210 castmates Shannen Doherty and Jennie Garth in the new spin-off show, but backed out after allegedly falling out with TV bosses over cash.

But Spelling insists her duties as a mother to nine-month-old daughter Stella and two-year-old son Liam with husband Dean MCDermott kept her from committing to the project when plans were first announced.

She tells the New York Post, "When I heard about the show, I thought it would be a cool connection to go back, especially because of my dad and for the fans to see (her character) Donna (Martin). But when they were ready to film, I'd just had the baby, so the timing wasn't right. When the offer came back around again, it was perfect. So it all worked out in the fashion that it was supposed to.

"That was all a build up in the press, such hearsay. It was never about money - I still, to this day, have no idea about what Jennie and Shannen made or make, so it clearly wasn't an issue."

Spelling finally filmed two episodes of the series in February (09) and insists she'll return for at least one more season.

But the actress remains coy about joining Doherty and Garth on the show with a recurring role.

She adds, "(My character) Donna's met her little niche in Japan, and she's very successful... and gets caught back up in the whole Beverly Hills thing, thinking that maybe she'll come back and design there permanently."
