Celebrated Spanish film producer Elias Querejeta has died at the age of 78.
The man known simply as 'The Producer' in Spanish movie circles passed away on Sunday (09Jun13) in Madrid.
Querejeta began his career as a soccer star, playing for Real Sociedad, before embracing his love of film.
He produced some of the most famous Spanish films of the 1960s and 1970s, including Carlos Suara's The Hunt and Raise Ravens, and Victor Erice's The Spirit of the Beehive, and he also worked on 2002's Mondays in the Sun, which starred Javier Bardem, and produced his director daughter Gracia Querejeta's Seven Billiards Tables in 2007.
Paying tribute to Querejeta, Pedro Perez, president of the Spanish Producers Federation (Fapae), has hailed him as "the best Spanish producer of all time".
The actor says he isn't "holding out for more money or doing anything like that".
The drama will be making its return to the streaming service in the near future.
