The Emmy Award winner was riding his bicycle in Moorpark, California on Saturday (12Sep15) when a driver in a sedan collided with him and motorcyclist Jesse Cushman. Both bikers died in the incident.

The sedan driver has been identified as Rachael Hill. She has not been arrested and police have ruled out alcohol or drugs as suspected factors in the crash as they continue to investigate the tragedy.

Malish was best known for his work on Lost, Ally MCBeal and The X-Files, for which he won two Emmys.

He also received 10 nominations for his work on The Tick, Millennium and Lost, and was shortlisted for nine Motion Picture Sound Editors awards, winning for Lost and Noriega: God's Favorite.
