Soul Ii Soul - Soul Ii Soul Frontman Lands London Sculpture Honour
Soul Ii Soul frontman Jazzie B has been immortalised in sculpture as part of an art installation in his native London.
A life-size silhouette of the musician, real name Trevor Beresford Romeo, has been cut from sheet steel and erected in a seating area at the U.K. capital's Finsbury Park bus station after locals voted for the star to receive the unusual honour.
The project marks the creation of a new walking and cycling route, and Jazzie B says, "It's a fantastic project and it's emotional to be honoured by the community I grew up in. Back in the day my first musical experience happened across the road... It's just great to be here and I used to cycle round here too, so it's really great to be supporting a local cycling scheme."
Silhouettes of suffragette Edith Garrud and health pioneer Florence Keen have also been included in the art installation.
