NCR is introducing a new kiosk model that will enable moviegoers to buy their tickets and popcorn (and other concession items) at one place as they enter the theater. The kiosks feature a 32-inch screen that can also display ads and trailers for movies. The kiosks are designed to be installed not only in theater lobbies but also in central shopping locations. A QR code reader will also also moviegoers to order their tickets online and retrieve them via the reader once they reach the theaters. In a statement, Brian Whitney, managing director cinema, NCR Hospitality, said: We expect that this kiosk solution will be a real differentiator for theaters that are aggressively seeking unique ways to improve both the patron experience and per-cap figures.
The album is the first in history to chart without selling a single copy.
