Sonisphere Is Heaven & Hell's Only UK Festival Show

by | 20 May 2009

Metal supergroup Heaven & Hell will make their only UK festival appearance of the year at Sonisphere, it has been confirmed.

The lineup for the Knebworth event already includes Metallica and Linking Park and now rock legends Ronnie James Dio, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Vinny Apice will take to the stage at the Hertfordshire stately home.

The foursome recorded and toured as Black Sabbath in the early 80s but with Iommi and Butler still performing alongside original singer Ozzy Osbourne and drummer Bill Ward, the Dio-fronted line-up returned in 2007 as Heaven & Hell, the name of their first album together.

They won the comeback of the year prize from Classic Rock magazine in 2007 and their new album The Devil You Know - their first as Heaven & Hell - debuted at number eight in the US album chart last month.

British fans will now have a chance to see the returning rock greats alongside Metallica, Linkin Park, Nine Inch Nails and many more at Sonisphere 2009, held at Knebworth House on August 1st and 2nd, it has been confirmed.
