Sofia Vergara To Host Saturday Night Live

Sofia Vergara is to host 'Saturday Night Live'.

The 'Modern Family' actress and model is to follow in the footsteps of recent host Lindsay Lohan and many other stars, including Robert Downey, Jr, Eddie Murphy, Tina Fey, Will Ferrell and Jodie Foster in guest presenting the iconic show in April 7.

She told website Access Hollywood: ''I'm very happy, very excited because I never thought I was going to be part of that TV show.

''I think it's an American tradition. It's a TV show that the whole world knows, so for me, it's an honor to be part of that group of actors that are known for their excellence.''

The Colombian star has also recently said while she acknowledges her stunning looks have helped her career, she has the talent to back it up.

She said: ''Part of my career has always been because of the way I look. I'm not ashamed. It has opened doors. But I also know that if I didn't have something else, I'd be long gone.''

The 39-year-old beauty often features heavily in polls praising her looks and finds it amusing she can compete with actresses much younger than her.

She said: ''I am on these lists for 'best ass' or 'most beautiful' with women like Mila Kunis, who's, like, 20 years old.

''I have a son that age!''

The musical guest when Sofia hosts will be British boy band One Direction.
