She was previously married to Joe Gonzalez, as a teen and has a son with him; 20 year old Monolo. Sofia and Joe divorced in 1993.

Nick and Sofia have had a notoriously tempestuous relationship since they got together in 2010. They met at that year's Golden Globes ceremony, where they got along famously, but split in May this year, after "fighting for a long time." They reunited a few weeks later, however and a source has explained that their relationship has always been up and down, saying, "They have a crazy relationship. They break up and make up.
