Fabrice Muamba, a former African refugee who has found success as a soccer star in England, is fighting for his life after suffering a heart attack during an F.A. Cup game on Saturday (17Mar12).
The Bolton Wanderers star collapsed during his team's game with Tottenham Hotspur and was taken to the London Chest hospital, where he remains in a critical condition.
The 23-year-old father-of-one escaped the hardships of the war-torn Democratic Republic of Congo and became an in-demand soccer prodigy in London as a star for the England under-21 team.
He signed for Bolton in 2008 and was named the team's player of the year in 2010.
Fellow players and fans have paid tribute to Muamba online.
'Smalls Change (Meditations Upon Ageing)' arrives in April.
The two awards have made for a great 72nd birthday present for the country music icon.
