The artist, formerly know as Snoop Dogg, has been reborn.

Under his new (well, not all that new anymore) pseudonym Snoop Lion, the rapper is preaching a message of peace and tolerance in his latest album, Reincarnation. See, it’s all about the new beginning. The latest single to drop is fittingly titled “No Guns Allowed” and it makes it clear that Snoop’s makeover is more than skin deep. In “No Guns Allowed” his brand new peaceful approach to life is complemented by some chill reggae vibes, as well as some surprisingly pacifistic lyrics. The rapper, who used to be all about guns, girls and getting’ paper is now preaching "No guns allowed in here tonight, we're gonna have a free-for-all, no fight." It’s an Easter miracle, if such a thing even exists.

Snoop Lion's brand new image looks like more than a mere publicity.

Drake also drops a verse on the new track, reportedly prompted by the Toronto shooting (and the string of recent shootings in the US in general). Suppose it makes sense for Snoop Lion to switch up the pace a bit on this album, in light of recent events.

The track was premiered March 11 on Conan (you can watch the video below). “No Guns Allowed” will be made available for download on April 23th. Quite the wait. Suppose even the born-again Snoop has a flare for the dramatic.
