Snoop Dogg - Snoop Dogg Banned From Norway
Rapper Snoop Dogg has been barred from entering Norway for two years after trying to enter the country with a small amount of cannabis in his possession last month.
The singer, who has recently just released his first reggae album titled Resurrection, was held at Kjevik Airport while on his way to a music festival in the country after customs officials found he was carrying eight grams of the drug. He was also found carrying way above the legal amount of cash allowed to bring into a country and was fined 52,000 kroner (£5,500) after admitting the two offences before going on to perform at Hove Festival in the country.
The 40-year-old entertainer's lawyer has come forth to say that the rapper has no immediate plans to appeal against the ban and that Snoop could "live with the decision".
The drug-friendly star has a long history of police intervention with his marijuana use, the most recent, prior to the Norway incident, came in January this year. Snoop was arrested in Texas after border agents found cannabis on his tour bus, later being released with a caution.
The rapper is currently on tour and is due to appear at the Catalpa Festival in New York on Sunday.
