Snooki Calls Newt Gingrich "So Cute" After 'Tonight Show'

Snooki, aka Nicole Polizzi, appears to have made an unlikely friend in conservative former speaker Newt Gingrich after the pair appeared together on 'The Tonight Show' on Wednesday (July 18, 2012).

Gingrich had tweeted of his excitement to meet the Jersey Shore star, though Snooki admitted that she had to Google the former speaker to find out who he was. After her appearance on the late night talk show, she told E! Online, "Obviously I don't know sh*t about politics, but I think he's just such a cute little man.I don't know why everyone hates him so much. I guess his views? I don't know any of his views". A contender for the Republican Presidential nomination this year, Gingrich favors strong immigration border policy and authored a book called 'Rediscovering God in America'. Gingrich's wife Callista even got in on the new friendship, posting a picture of herself with Snooki and Newt on Instagram. Of course, this isn't the first time that Snooki has gotten involved with the political elite. In 2010, she complained about President Barack Obama's proposal to increase taxes on tanning salons, with Senator John MCCain tweeting to her, "Snooki u r right.I would never tax your tanning bed! Pres Obama's tax/spend policy is quite The Situation. but I do rec wearing sunscreen!". A couple of weeks later, the MTV reality was arrested for disorderly conduct, with MCCain saying in an interview, "I kind of think she might be too good looking to go to jail."

However, the Republicans probably shouldn't rely on Snooki's vote just yet - she told E! Online, "I'm an independent".
