Snider Thanks Authorities After Brother-in-law Court Case
Vincent Gargiulo, the brother of Snider's wife Suzette, was gunned down in New York City in 2003. His business partner Christian Tarantino, 42, was accused of the killing, but after a trial in Manhattan, a jury failed to reach a verdict on Monday (23May11).
He will be retried in August (11). Tarantino was convicted of other charges relating to two killings connected to an armed robbery in 1994.
After the court proceedings, Snider released a statement on behalf of his family praising local authorities for their hard work in bringing the case to court.
The statement reads, "We are grateful to finally have some kind of legal closure to these crimes, but that does not change the fact we have lost a son, a brother, an uncle and most of all a beloved friend.
"Vinny believed Chris Tarantino to be a bad person who needed to be stopped; so much so he gave his life to do just that.
"We would like to thank all the federal, state and local authorities who worked so tirelessly these past six years... Their commitment to gaining a measure of justice for the victims in this case was inspiring. Vinny, we all love you and miss you."
