Smith's Happyness Debuts At Number One
The film, in which Smith plays real-life homeless hero CHRIS GARDNER, beat fantasy film ERAGON to the top spot by almost $4 million (GBP2 million).
Family film CHARLOTTE'S WEB debuted in third place with $12 million (GBP6.2 million), while Mel Gibson's APOCALYPTO slipped up after taking the top spot in its first weekend a week ago (10DEC06) - the epic fell to number six with a second weekend take of $7.7 million (GBP3.9 million).
