Smith's Associate Held At Gunpoint
Movie producer Charles 'Charlie MACk' Alston, Smith's longtime friend and associate, had stopped at a gas station in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to refuel his BMW when he was held up by an armed man demanding money.
Alston tells Philly.com, "I guess he felt like he had the upper hand because he had a gun. He was wrong... This dude runs up and puts a gun in my stomach. I'm looking at him, and he's feeling in my pocket, going, 'Where's the money at? Where's the money at?'"
Alston pulled $3,000 (£2,000) in cash from his pocket, before swiftly manoeuvring to pin his attacker to the ground.
The man bit and scratched Alston to free himself, and made off with $2,700 (£1,800) of the money.
Alston has now offered a $5,000 (£3,300) reward for any information that could lead to the robber's arrest.
He adds, "We never know what the circumstance is. He could be a bad seed, or trying to feed his seed. To me, it's sad."
