Slash Supports Mckagan's Roses Reunion

Both Slash and MCKagan quit the group in the 1990s and they went on to form their own band, Velvet Revolver.

The bassist stunned fans by appearing on stage with Guns N' Roses at London's O2 Arena last month (Oct10), marking his first performance with the band in 13 years.

And Slash admits he was pleased to hear MCKagan has thawed his frosty relationship with Rose and rejoined their former band for a one-off show.

He tells New York's Q104.3 FM, "It was cool. I got an email from Duff going, 'I'm checked into a hotel and Axl is in the room next to me.'... He just sort of kept me posted through the day... So it was cool. And then the next day he told me it was great, everything was very cool, they went out and had dinner, and so they had that sort of, whatever, rekindling kind of thing..."

But Slash is adamant the semi-reunion has not paved the way for his own return to the band, insisting he will never support Rose's tardy time-keeping.

He adds, "I know that they still ended up going on an hour late. And I was, like, 'Oooh.' That's the only part that would have left a bad taste in my mouth, supporting that.... (A reunion would) be cool. But we'd have to do things way differently than we did in '91, '92, '93 and whatever... And I don't think that's changeable. That whole production would have to tighten up and be like a real working band, and I don't think that's salvageable."
