Slash Clears Up Robbie Williams Song Reports
Scottish rocker Simon Neil, from the band Biffy Clyro, recently revealed he had to turn down the chance to work with Williams on his upcoming album Take the Crown as a result of prior commitments, but reported that Slash had been drafted in as his replacement.
He told British music magazine NME, "I think Slash is going to play the solo now, which makes the whole thing cooler."
However, the former Guns N' Roses legend, who was born in Williams' hometown of Stoke, England, has now spoken out about the rumours, revealing he was approached by the ex-Take That star about recording a track with him, but they couldn't find the time to hook up.
In a Twitter.com post on Wednesday (12Sep12), Slash writes, "There's a rumor going round that I'm playing on Robbie William's (sic) new record; we discussed it but my schedule made it not possible.
"RW is a brilliant artist. & a good friend. The song itself is fantastic. I would have loved to have done it if it were possible."
