Ska Legends The Specials Confirm Reunion And UK Tour
The Coventry group - heralded as a major inspiration for the likes of Blur and Lily Allen, among others - scored eight top ten singles and two number ones before their split in 1981.
Rumours grew of an imminent reformation when the group - whose hits include Ghost Town and Too Much, Too Young - appeared as surprise guests at this year's Bestival on the Isle of Wight.
And now some 30 years since the release of their debut single Gangsters, they have confirmed they will take to the road for UK tour starting in April next year.
The series of shows kicks off at Newcastle Academy and includes back-to-back shows in both Birmingham and Brixton.
The band are credited with having started the UK ska-punk scene in the late 70s and the subsequent emergence of the 2-Tone sound.
