Sir Paul Mccartney - Sir Paul Mccartney Plays With Damon Albarn In London After French Honour

Sir Paul Mccartney raced back to London on Saturday (08Sep12) to perform at Damon Albarn's Africa Express show just hours after he was presented with a top award in France.
The Beatles legend received the Legion of Honour award from French President Francois Hollande at the Elysee Palace in Paris on Saturday, following in the footsteps of previous recipients including Clint Eastwood and Robert De Niro.
After the short ceremony, MCCartney jumped on a Eurostar train back to London in time for a guest appearance at the Africa Express show in King's Cross.
The Africa Express tour - co-founded by Blur star Albarn - features around 80 musicians who have been travelling around the U.K. by train for a series of concerts.
The line-up has included Libertines star Carl Barat, The Noisettes, John MCClure of Reverend and the Makers, The Temper Trap and the Rizzle Kicks, and during the five-hour show on Saturday night, MCCartney joined in by playing two Wings songs with a host of famous faces.
Among those who joined MCCartney on stage were Led Zeppelin bassist John Paul Jones, Gruff Rhys of the Super Furry Animals and Albarn.
