SIR Elton John and his partner David Furnish will take some much-needed time out this Christmas (09) to discuss their plans to adopt a child.
The couple, who wed in a civil partnership in 2005, was left devastated in September (09) when their bid to become parents to a Ukrainian boy named Lev was rejected on the grounds of their sexuality.
John and Furnish have vowed to support the tot financially even though they are not allowed to take him home, and they will be looking into other adoption options in the New Year (10).
The couple also plan to use a relaxing festive break in Venice, Italy to mull over their next move.
Furnish tells Britain's New! magazine, "We're going to Venice (for Christmas), we have an apartment there. We're checking out our options (about adoption) and that's part of what Christmas will be about - a chance to get off the treadmill and chill out. There is a lot to talk about."
