And the Ivory Coast musician, who campaigned for political and civil calm following the ousting of former president Laurent Gbagbo last year (11), is delighted with his new role.
He tells news agency Afp, "I am most honoured and very encouraged in my career as an artist and singer."
'Smalls Change (Meditations Upon Ageing)' arrives in April.
The two awards have made for a great 72nd birthday present for the country music icon.
