Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel thrilled fans at a Central Park, New York tribute concert on Tuesday (08Jun10) by showing up in person to perform with celebrity fans.
More than 30 artists including Brendan Benson, Ben Gibbard, St. Vincent, Joan Osborne, Marc Cohn and Shawn Colvin played Simon & Garfunkel classics to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the park's SummerStage programme.
But few people expected the duo behind the tribute to actually show up.
Simon & Garfunkel appeared at the end of the tribute to perform their Bridge Over Troubled Water anthem.
Highlights of the tribute included Dean and Britta's dedication to Britta Phillips' father, Peter, before Homeward Bound - the singer's dad reportedly gave piano lessons to Simon.
