Simon Cowell's Cartier Gift For Birthday Girl Susan Boyle
Scottish singing sensation Susan Boyle was left stunned after unwrapping a $32,000 (£20,000) necklace from Simon Cowell at her 50th birthday bash on Friday night (01Apr11).
The unlikely superstar shot to fame on Cowell's Britain's Got Talent TV show in the U.K. in 2009 after wowing the music mogul with her rendition of I Dreamed a Dream.
Boyle laid on a party for family and friends at Scotland's MACdonald Houston Hotel in celebration of her milestone birthday, but the main star of the night was Cowell's gift - a hugely expensive gold Cartier necklace.
A source tells Britain's The People newspaper, "Susan couldn't believe how kind Simon was, she has never received a present as expensive as that in her life. She was really shocked but so grateful."
