Simon Cowell - Simon Cowell Shaken By Brick-wielding Intruder
Simon Cowell 's West London was broken into by a brick-wielding fan on Saturday night (March 24, 2012), according to The Sun. Max Clifford, acting as PR spokesman for the Britain's Got Talent judge, said that "There was a loud bang and Simon rushed upstairs to find out what was going on. It came from the bathroom so he went in - and there was a woman standing there holding a brick. She had smashed her way in through the window and it was unclear how long she had been there or what she was doing."
Luckily for Cowell, he has an "on-site security team" who were able to detain the intruder until the police arrived and arrested her. Leanne Zaloumis, 29, of Catford, South East London, will appear in court today (March 26, 2012), charged with aggravated burglary. Her hearing will take place at West London Magistrates' Court. Clifford added, in his statement, that "It was a very frightening experience for Simon, who told me it was like something from a horror movie. He was just very lucky that all she had was a brick. She could have had a knife, a gun or any other weapon."
According to the report from The Sun, Simon Cowell is understood not to have known the woman, who is described as "an over-zealous fan" of the TV talent show mogul. It is thought that Simon will now be "stepping up" the security at his 9 million mansion, which already has a high security system in place, managed by a team of staff.
