Sigel Charged With Tax Fraud

Federal prosecutors in Philadelphia allege the hip-hop star, real name Dwight Grant, made $1.5 million (£1 million) from 2002 to 2004, but failed to fill in tax returns, according to court documents filed on Tuesday (05Oct10).

Defence lawyer Fortunato Perri Jr. claims Sigel was behind bars during some of the years in question, and had others handling his finances, reports the Associated Press.

Sigel previously served jail time for drug and weapons charges; he was also locked up in 2008 for violating the terms of his probation.
