Rod Stewart - Sick Rod Stewart Cancels London Show
Music veteran Rod Stewart has axed a show in London after falling sick with a bronchial virus.
The singer's concert at the city's O2 Arena on Thursday night (06Jun13) has been called off and pushed back until 11 July (13).
A statement posted on Stewart's Twitter.com page, reads, "(The show) has been rescheduled to 11 July due to a bronchial virus... Hate letting down all going to the O2... but happily been able to reschedule for July 11th. Wish me well as I do you."
Stewart battled illness during his first show at the venue on Tuesday night (04Jun13), and he was forced to apologise to the audience when his famous voice began to fail him.
The Maggie May hitmaker revealed he was suffering from a viral infection, but was determined to keep going with the show, telling the crowd, "I'm suffering from a virus tonight and it's affecting my voice."
The singer was able to complete his set, which included a tribute to murdered Army drummer Lee Rigby, who was killed in Woolwich, south London last month (May13). Stewart dedicated a rendition of his track Forever Young to the tragic 25 year old.
