SHREK THE THIRD made movie history at the British box-office over the weekend (29Jun-01Jul07), taking the all-time biggest opening for an animated film.
The cartoon sequel, which features the voices of Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy and Cameron Diaz, hauled in GBP16.67 million ($33.34 million), also making it the largest opening weekend of the year (07) to date.
Shrek The Third's record-breaking tally knocked Fantastic Four: Rise Of The Silver Surfer and Ocean's Thirteen down to numbers two and three respectively.
