Shocking Scenes! Robbie Williams Punches Gran In 'Candy' Video
Robbie Williams has resorted to shock tactics for his latest comeback single, 'Candy.' The video that the former Take That singer is releasing to promote the song contains a number of brutal scenes, including a shot of him punching an old lady! In the video, Robbie plays a seemingly immortal guardian angel, trying to protect a beautiful brunette as she strolls down the street. Unluckily for the gran, she's simply in the way and gets clocked round the face whilst Williams clears the path for the object of his affections.
It's not just the granny taking a beating though, Robbie himself gets run over in the street in the video, which accompanies the pop song, which seems has the feel of a modern reggae number mixed with a Madness song. According to The Sun, Robbie has described the song as "a summer song, very much in a similar vein to Rock DJ, about a girl who thinks she's great. And she might be, but she's a bit nefarious with her ways."
Robbie went on to explain that it was one of the easier songs on the album to write, saying "Some songs take an age to write and some songs just fall out of your mouth completely formed, and you don't have to think about it. I don't know why that fell out of my mouth and out of my brain at that particular time - it just did." 'Candy' is taken from Robbie's ninth studio album, 'Take The Crown,' which is released on November 5, 2012.
