Shia Labeouf Calls Time On 'Transformers'
The young actor, quickly emerging as one of the most sought after stars in Hollywood, is currently starring in 'Transformers: Dark of the Moon', the third movie in the huge grossing franchise. However, speaking at the movie's opening at the Moscow International Film Festival, Shia said he "doesn't have anything new to contribute" to future projects. 'Transformers 3' also features Patrick Dempsey, Frances McDormand, John Malkovich and the British model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, who took over from the outgoing Megan Fox. Paramount Pictures confirmed the movie made $37.3 million after its Wednesday opening in the U.S, a 40 per cent drop from its predecessor, 'Revenge of the Fallen'. A series of negative reviews could have discouraged audiences, but the movie is expected to perform strongly over the weekend.
Shia Lebeouf will next star in John Hillcoat's forthcoming crime-drama movie 'The Wettest County in the World', about Depression-era bootleggers in the American South. The film also stars Gary Oldman and Tom Hardy and is scheduled for release in 2012.
