Sheryl Crow Fears Cell Phone Use Is To Blame For Brain Tumour

Singer Sheryl Crow is convinced the benign tumour medics found in her brain earlier this year (12) developed as a result of constant cell phone use.

The Grammy-winning breast cancer survivor reveals she asked her doctor for help when she started forgetting the lyrics to he songs and struggling with simple tasks, fearing the early onset of Alzheimer's disease.

Crow underwent an Mri (magnetic resonance imaging scan) in a bid to get to the root of the problem, and she was subsequently diagnosed with meningioma, a disease went public with in June (12).

And now the Soak Up the Sun hitmaker reveals she fears there is a connection between her tumour and the amount of time she spends on her cell phone.

During an interview with U.S. newswoman Katie Couric on Monday (10Sep12), she said, "I say it's in my cell phone area, and there are no doctors that will confirm that, but I did have a conversation with (top American neurosurgeon) Sanjay Gupta about it.

"I do have a theory that it's possible that it's related to that, because (in the) early, early days when I was promoting my first record, I did hours and hours of phoners (phone interviews), on those old, archaic cell phones."

Crow battled breast cancer in 2006.
