Cancer killed actor Sherman Hemsley, according to the El Paso County Medical Examiner in Texas.
The Jeffersons star died suddenly at his home in the city last month (24Jul12) and local authorities were quick to rule the cause of death "most definitely natural causes".
Now, following a postmortem report obtained by Tmz.com, it has been revealed the actor died as a result of a cancerous mass on his lung.
Reports suggest Hemsley had been advised by doctors to undergo chemotherapy and radiation treatment before his death.
