Slipknot - Shawn Crahan Feared Slipknot Bandmate Could Have Died On Stage
Slipknot drummer Shawn Crahan fears his bandmate Jim Root could have died on stage if doctors hadn't spotted his appendix problems.
The guitarist was forced to sit out a number of dates on the group's U.S. Mayhem Festival summer (12) tour after falling sick - he was later diagnosed with a burst appendix and rushed to hospital for emergency surgery in June (12).
Root rejoined the band on the tour after a two-week break, and his bandmate, drummer Crahan has now opened up about the health scare.
He tells The Pulse Of Radio, "I'm happy that he decided to stay home for a little bit, because if it would have happened (his appendix burst) out here (on stage), I don't know what would have happened. If it would have burst in the middle of the set, he might have fallen over and died right there. I don't know, you know, I don't want to think about it 'cause it didn't happen that way."
