Singer Sean Kingston marked the one-year anniversary of his near-fatal jet-ski accident on Tuesday (29May12) by paying thanks to the rescuer who saved his life.
The Beautiful Girls hitmaker was knocked unconscious on 29 May, 2011 after the water vehicle he was driving crashed into a bridge in Miami, Florida.
Kingston and his female rider were dragged to safety by off-duty Coast Guard Jonathan Rivera and his friend Jimmy Vega and the musician was treated for severe injuries.
The 22 year old spent several weeks at the Jackson Memorial Hospital undergoing surgery but he eventually made a full recovery, and now Kingston has reached out to the doctors and first responders who came to his rescue, admitting he feels lucky to be alive and have the support of his fans and best friend, rapper Ja-Bar.
In as series of posts on Twitter.com, he writes, "Today Is The Day That Makes It 1 Year Since My Near Death Accident.. And I Just Wanna Thank The Lord The (sic) Morning For Blessing Me With A 2nd Chance At Life... i wanna Thank all my fans for the Love, SUPPORT AND LETTERS I Love YOU ALL.. I Wanna Thank Jackson memorial And All The Great Doctors And Surgeon's (sic) thats (sic) Worked With Me..
