Seal - Seal Apologises Over Joel Madden Drugs Bust Rant
Seal has offered a public apology for publishing an angry online rant in defence of his The Voice co-star Joel Madden after cops found a small amount of cannabis in the rocker's Australian apartment.
The Good Charlotte frontman had a brush with the law on Sunday (09Jun13) when officers discovered a small stash of marijuana after searching his serviced accommodation at The Darling hotel in Sydney.
Cops decided against pressing charges and Madden thanked officers for the way they handled the situation, but that didn't stop Seal, who works with Madden on the Aussie Tv show, from aiming a furious tirade at the Australian media for reporting the scandal.
In a series of posts on Twitter.com, he writes, "All my brother (Madden) has done since he's been here is serve this country by attending numerous kids' hospitals, homeless shelters, provide time and love for disabled kids... and not to mention bring hope to aspiring artists... across the nation with his authenticity and heart. Yet having a joint in the privacy of his hotel room is worthy of front page news?
"Way to respect a guest in your country trash media, way to make us feel welcome. Keep it up... sure we'll be back next year... and yes, I say we because it's just a matter of time before you gun us all down...
"It's a shame. I for one will not stand by and watch you attempt to destroy my brother, you gun one you gun us all!... I'm done here. Can't wait to go home."
The soul singer's outburst hit headlines Down Under, but he later deleted the tweets and apologised for his comments, writing, "I want to apologise for my rant earlier. Joel is one of my best friends and I was really hurting for him. I want to say I have loved being in Australia, I've loved working on The Voice and with an incredibly talented group of Australian artists.
"It's been almost 11 weeks away from my kids and me saying 'I can't wait to go home' was me missing being home with them."
