Saxophonist Lol Coxhill Dies

British saxophonist Lol Coxhill has died at the age of 79.
The musician, real name Lowen Coxhill, passed away in hospital on Monday (09Jul12) after battling a serious illness, according to music website Jazzwisemagazine.com.
Coxhill's talent was discovered by DJ John Peel, who spotted him busking outside London's Royal Festival Hall in 1968, and he went on to play with rock band The Damned, American jazz artist Anthony Braxton, and composer Mike Oldfield.
