Saving Abel Star Cleared
SAVING ABEL rocker JASON NULL has been cleared of all charges in relation to an alleged sex attack on a teenage girl.
The 33-year-old guitarist, co-founder of the group, and Brandon Danger, 21, one of the band's employees, were arraigned in an Oakland, California, court on Friday (06Feb09) accused of assaulting a 17-year-old following a concert at the city's Oracle Arena on Tuesday (03Feb09) night.
The teenager had accused the pair of luring her onto the band's tourbus and forcing her to perform oral sex on them.
But all charges against Null and Danger were dropped on Monday (09Feb09) after a videotape of the incident emerged.
And after reviewing the footage, prosecutors at the Alameda County district attorney's office have decided to drop the case.
Assistant District Attorney Tom Rogers says, "Based on the video, the girl was not completely truthful to police. The video contradicts her account of what happened. Among some of the things video shows is that she led the people on the bus to believe she was older than she really was."
The star's lawyer Kevin Ikuma adds, "He (Null) spent two nights in custody behind this. It's unfortunate considering he's been completely exonerated. But in the end, the right conclusions were reached, and he's certainly grateful for that."
