Saving Abel Rocker Accused Of Sexual Assault
SAVING ABEL star JASON NULL has been charged with sexual assault in relation to an alleged attack on an underage girl. The 33-year-old guitarist, co-founder of the group, and Brandon Danger, 21, an employee of the band, were arraigned in an Oakland, California, court on Friday (06Feb09) with both facing felony counts of forced oral copulation and forced oral copulation on a minor.
The charges stem from an alleged incident involving a 17-year-old following a concert at the city's Oracle Arena on Tuesday (03Feb09), where the group was opening for fellow rockers Avenged Sevenfold.
The unnamed teenager is said to have accused the pair of luring her into the band's tourbus with the promise of appearing in a music video and forcing her to perform sex acts on them.
Null and Danger were arrested at the scene.
Null pleaded not guilty to the charges and has been freed on $90,000 (£62,000) bail. Danger, who will be back in court on 10 February (09) to enter a plea, remains in custody on a $60,000 (£42,000) bond.
Null's attorney Kevin Ikuma says, "It is our position that the charges that have been made are baseless. He will be fully exonerated once this case is fully investigated. There is a videotape of the entire incident that the police knew about that they failed to collect at the time of the incident. We are in the process of getting that to the district attorney for their review."
