Saved By The Bell star Lark Voorhies battling bipolar disorder?
Lark Voorhies is battling with bipolar disorder, according to her mother.
The 'Saved By The Bell' actress - who played fashionable teen Lisa Turtle on the hit 90s show - disappeared from the spotlight after the popular series ended in 1993 and her mother Tricia claims that the 38-year-old star's shying away is down to her mental illness and being ''traumatised''.
She said: ''There are things that have traumatised her. I care deeply about my daughter and I want her to resume her life.''
Tricia also thinks the divorce between her daughter and Miguel Coleman after four years of marriage made her ''break'', but insisted: ''She feels whatever challenges he has, she can handle herself. She's trying so hard. She says she's delayed, but she's going to get there.''
Lark rose to fame at the tender age of 15 and still lives with her 64-year-old mother in Pasadena, California, with few friends and outings.
However Lark has not stated herself that she is suffering from the condition.
When asked by People magazine whether she has been diagnosed with any chronic conditions - including bipolar disorder and schizophrenia - she was quick to respond: ''Oh no. We're alive in a major time of all-in-all prophecy.''
While she is aware of her problem she is adamant to seek any psychiatric help, saying: ''They don't explain it. They can't treat it. They don't know about it.''
