Sarah Palin - Sarah Palin Comes Out Fighting As 'Today' Host

Sarah Palin made her television hosting debut on the Today show this morning (April 3, 2012), going head-to-head with veteran broadcaster Katie Couric, who hosted Good Morning America. In the initial segment of Today, co-host Matt Lauer sat down for a one-on-one interview with the former Governor of Alaska, reports the UK's Guardian newspaper.
Lauer asked Palin whether Republican favorite Mitt Romney is a candidate who could inspire voters, to which Palin pointed out the process isn't over yet and that other candidates could win the required number of delegates. Nevertheless, Sarah reckoned that whoever won the nomination would be better than the current president, saying, "Anybody but Obama.I honestly believe anybody running on a Gop ticket would be better". Later in the show, Palin was asked about Romney picking his vice-presidential candidate and whether he should choose someone with more experience than she had. The question didn't go down well and Palin argued that her record would put her up against any of the vice-presidential candidates last time, adding, "It doesn't matter if that person has national experience or not, they're going to get clobbered by the lame stream media. There will be a double standard applied no matter who it is". Palin was well-fancied to run for the Republican presidential nomination this year, but eventually decided against throwing her hat in the ring.
In the opening moments to her hosting of the show, Palin was surrounded by a stack of newspapers - referring to her 2008 interview with Katie Couric when she was asked which newspaper she read.
