Santana Slams London Robbery Reports
The former Dipset crew member was in London at the weekend (30-31Aug08) ahead of a planned gig at the Shepherds Bush Empire on Sunday (31Aug08).
The concert was cancelled after a scuffle at the star's hotel, which saw Santana and his entourage kicked out.
It was alleged that the fight broke out after Santana was targeted by an angry promoter over a previous concert that never took place. The bogus gig was booked by Santana's ex-manager, who reportedly stole the show money, according to AllHipHop.com.
But the There It Go (The Whistle Song) hitmaker insists rumours he was robbed of his jewellery during the incident are false.
He says in a statement: "Bottom line, my former manager along with an ex group member... accepted an astronomical amount of money for a paid date that never happened or was ever brought to my knowledge.
"I was NOT robbed. My staff and I were kicked out of our original hotel for the commotion."
Santana managed to settle his differences with the unnamed promoter, but his London concert - in addition to another show in Wolverhampton in the West Midlands, England - was pulled by police as a result of the hotel altercation.
His publicist Lynn Hobson tells the website, "The London and Wolverhampton shows were cancelled by the UK Police minutes before show time due to the hotel commotion and the Polices inability to handle the turn out."
