Sage Stallone's Mother Confirms Los Angeles Funeral
A Los Angeles funeral has been planned for Sage Stallone. Sage, the son of Hollywood actor Sylvester Stallone, passed away aged 36 on Friday (July 13, 2012). Entertainment Tonight have reported that the closed-casket ceremony will take place this Saturday (July 21, 2012) at the St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in Brentwood, Los Angeles. Sage's mother, Sasha has requested that donations be made to the organisation Autism Speaks, in lieu of flowers. Sage's younger brother Seargeoh is autistic.
Sage's body was discovered on Friday at his home. The official cause of death is unknown and coroners will have to wait until the results of toxicology reports are revealed in the forthcoming weeks. USA Today has reported that a prescription drug overdose is suspected but has not been confirmed. It is also unclear whether or not the overdose - if that is the cause - was deliberate or accidental. LAPD's robbery-homicide division are dealing with the case, though officials stressed that there were no of signs of foul play. Ed Winter, of the coroner's office, told reporters that prescription drugs and other items had been recovered from the death scene.
Entertainment Tonight also reported that Sage had been planning to marry in Las Vegas this past weekend. However, he was not engaged, so it was thought to have been intended as a spontaneous occurrence. Sage is Sylvester's son from his marriage to Sasha Czack. They married in 1974 and divorced in 1985.
