Sage Stallone Funeral, Sylvester Stallone Leads Tributes

Sylvester Stallone attended his son Sage Stallone's funeral in Brentwood, California on Saturday (July 21, 2012). The Hollywood action star was accompanied by his wife Jennifer Flavin, and his brother Frank Stallone was also present at the private funeral, reports TMZ.com.

The memorial service took place at St Martin of Tours Catholic Church, and was an understandably emotional affair. 36-year-old Sage - who appeared alongside his father in Rocky V - died on July 13, 2012 at his Los Angeles home. His housekeeper was under strict instructions not to bother him, though eventually entered the bedroom and found his body after Sage's mother claimed she couldn't get in contact with him. The circumstances surrounding his death are still being investigated, and a post mortem was inconclusive. It was reported that numerous prescription pill boxes were found in the room, though toxicology tests results are not due back for weeks. In a previous statement, Sylvester Stallone - who was at Comic Con at the time of his son's death - said, "This agonizing loss will be felt for the rest of our lives. Sage is our first child and the center of our universe and I am humbly begging for all to have my son's memory and soul left in peace".

Though the ceremony was strictly private, fans were seen holding up placards with pictures of Sage Stallone and his father, outside the church.
