Sage Stallone Did Not Commit Suicide, Says Close Friend

The investigation into why Sage Stallone - the son of Sylvester Stallone - died in his room last week is well underway, though one of the 36-year-old's closest friends has ruled out the possibility of suicide. According to TMZ.com, numerous pill bottles were found at the scene, though police are reportedly looking into whether Sage could have been dealing, rather than taking them himself.

Friend Stephen Wozniak says Sage would not have purposely ended his own life, telling E! News it was "absolutely not suicide", saying, "I spoke to him a few weeks ago.We talked about resurrecting a film we worked on, other projects, talked about his girlfriend and time they'd spent together. We talked about my wedding and he seemed to be thinking about it". Wozniak added that Sage suffered from anxiety and that he saw prescription medications like Vicodin, Klonopin and Paxil at his friend's house. He also says Sage smoked two or three packs of cigarettes a day, though did not take recreational drugs and never drank, adding, "He would have withdrawal and get depressed.He would try to overcompensate. He would try to clown around and I know that those are things people do, medicate or wake up. He was no different".

An autopsy on Sage was deemed inconclusive, while toxicology tests are not expected for several weeks. The LAPD have placed a security hold on the coroner's findings.
