Now, however, it appears that Cohen had an entirely different target in mind when pouring the mixture over the star - George Clooney. Seacrest is high profile enough, but ruining the night for one of the most high profile guests, and one of the nominees, would've been something else. So maybe thank goodness he didn't. It was Seacrest who revealed the ruse on Twitter, writing "Went to Snl on saturday, ran into sacha baron cohen. We talked... original plan was to ash clooney!"
At the time Cohen had claimed that the ashes were in fact the cremated remains of deceased North Korean dictator Kim Jong-Il, saying on the red carpet that it had been the late oppressor's dream to attend the Academy Awards. The Oscar's organizing committee are strongly against any advertisement for any film at the event, and Cohen was ultimately refused entry to the ceremony. Nevertheless his forthcoming film 'The DICtator' is expected to be among his most anticipated to date.
