Ryan Gosling Stepping Behind The Camera, Sorry Girls
Gosling has already signed up 'Mad Men' star Christina Aguilera for the lead role, while bosses at Sierra Affinity will shop the movie during the Toronto International Film Festival. In a statement to the Hollywood Reporter, Gosling said, "I am very appreciative to Marc Platt, Adam Siegel and Bold Films for being so supportive, and I look forward to making this film with all of them". 'How to Catch a Monster' is a fantasy noir about a single mother who is swept into a macabre underworld, while her teenage son discovers a secret road leading to an underwater town. It's probably not the movie we expected Gosling to write, or direct, given his penchant for starring in low-budget indie-dramas or witty romantic comedies. Nevertheless, it seems as though the actor has plenty of backing and the movie should go into production later this year.
As well as 'Catch a Monster', Gosling will head to Toronto to promote his forthcoming flick 'The Place Beyond the Pines', also starring his girlfriend EVA MENDES.
