Actor Mickey Rourke forged close bonds with leading members of the New York mob, according to two new books.
The Wrestler star makes an appearance in Victoria Gotti's autobiography This Family of Mine, in which she lifts the lid on her notorious father John Gotti and brother John 'Junior' Gotti, who ran the Gambinos, one of New York's five mafia families.
Gotti claims Rourke was drinking with Junior when he was arrested by the FBI back in 1996.
And author Gerald Posner alleges Rourkes links to the mafia run even deeper.
In his book Miami Babylon, Posner tells how the actor sat in court with the Gotti family when John Gotti was tried in 1992, and was so fascinated by the mob world, he created his own gang, based upon mafia ideals.
Posner claims Rourke gathered 13 friends and forced them to swear allegiance and have gaelic tattoos etched. The 'brotherhood' reportedly included Miami nightclub boss Gary James.
