Roth Blasts Horror Film Critics

Director ELI ROTH has slammed critics of his horror films, accusing reviewers of failing to "understand" his movies.
The actor/filmmaker gained notoriety with his graphic 2005 slasher movie Hostel, which provoked a storm of controversy and led some film critics to label the shocking project “torture porn”.
But the star insists reviewers are just not interested in watching horror movies.
He says, "I think the term 'torture porn'... says more about the critics than it does about the film and their complete lack of understanding or frankly interest in those types of movies.”

People are always going to have opinions. I though the "Blair Witch Project" sucked, but obviously a lot of people like it. I was so upset I wanted money back.

Or, alternatively, it's possible that the reviewers and the critics are right, and that Hostel was utter trash. Besides, what does it matter to an actor whether a movie is any good or not? If they do a good job at performing the script that *someone else* has written, under the direction of *someone else*, they'll have plenty of work to do. I don't mean to suggest that there's no talent required in acting - there is - but why do we never get lighting or sound or catering people making headlines defending the movies they've worked on?Mind you, I do disagree that 'torture porn' is a bad term to use. Like the term 'child porn', it tends to tar a legitimate industry, when what's being described is actually far more disturbing.
