Beacons Festival - Roots Manuva And Ghostpoet To Perform At Beacons Festival15 February 2012
Beacons Festival returns in 2012 with the first wave of acts announced, as well as a change of venue. A statement by the organisers of the festival said: 'Last year, due to extreme flooding, Health and Safety Executives made the decision to cancel Beacons Festival. We were devastated to have to cancel your party but were left with no choice. This year, we have moved the site away from any potential flood areas, still in the fantastic setting of Carleton [near Skipton]. The new location is even more picturesque than the previous site and we feel it can only enhance people's experience of what will be a truly amazing festival.'
This year, the line-up is set to include Ghostpoet; Roots Manuva; Cass McCombs and d/r/u/g/s, with a further forty plus acts, including the Saturday headliner, to be announced in March 2012. Beacons will also announce an exclusive cinema programme, as well as full details regarding children's entertainment.
Roots Manuva's most recent album, 4everrevolution, was released in October 2011 to critical acclaim. Meanwhile, Ghostpoet is busy making a name for himself. A Mercury Prize nominated artist, he has already performed at many festivals, including Glastonbury and Bestival.
Beacons Festival will run from 17th-19th August 2012 in Carleton for three days and four nights.
