Ronnie Wood - Ronnie Wood sleeps better with Stones

Ronnie Wood is glad The Rolling Stones are back together - because it suits his sleeping patterns.

The group recently reconvened to record two new songs and rehearse for four gigs in November and December - which will be held in London and New Jersey, US, to mark their 50th anniversary - and the guitarist says they were pleased to return to the schedule because they are all nocturnal.

He said: ''We've all been wandering around like fish out of water.

''Every night at 9pm it's, 'What am I going to do? I've just woken up.' You can't get to sleep until 3am.

''I think that's the reason we make solo albums, to keep the chops together so you're not totally ice-cold going back into it.''

Ronnie, 65, also admits working outside of the band has proven beneficial during rehearsals.

He explained to NME magazine: ''Keith Richards, Charlie Watts and I were saying the other day our hands are not even sore at rehearsals - and we've been really going for it.''

The band - completed by singer Sir Mick Jagger - will play the first of their comeback shows in London on November 25.
